Browse at Your Own Pace

Begin wherever your curiosity leads. The studies will be here when you’re ready. When I shared my first Matthew study on Facebook today, I mentioned that I planned to post daily, though I might not share every post on Facebook. As I continue setting up this blog, I’ve realized that what matters most to me is making my past studies available for anyone who wants to explore them. For now, I’ll be adding posts to my heart’s content as I work through those studies. Some days that may mean one post; other days it may mean several. I’ll continue reading through and preparing each one before sharing it. There is no need to keep up with everything as it appears. This blog is becoming a place you can browse at your own pace—begin with a book, a question, or a study that interests you, and follow from there. The Bible Books page gathers studies by book, while Study Threads helps connect topics that travel through more than one book. The labels on individual posts also bring related material to...

The Return of Glory and Living Waters

Image
Post Twenty-Five: From the First to the Last — The Dwelling Restored and Life Flowing Outward The Return of Glory and Living Waters Throughout our studies, we have followed the unfolding restoration from the beginning, through the promised woman, the preparation of Christ's spiritual body, the Bridegroom and Bride, and the gathering of those who follow. We have examined the dead awakening, the removal of deception, and the children of the promise being gathered home. But where does the life that restores them come from? To answer that question, we return to Ezekiel and the Glory of YHWH (יהוה). In our earlier Glory study, we followed the movement of His Glory through the visions given to Ezekiel. We observed the cherubim, the wheels, the threshold, and the departure from the dwelling that had become defiled. Now we come to the promised return. The Glory Returns — Ezekiel 43 Ezekiel 43 describes the Glory of the God of Israel coming from the east. The earth shines with His Glory, an...

The Barren Woman — The Children of the Promise

Post Twenty-Four: From the First to the Last — The Woman, the Promise, and the Children Gathered Home The Barren Woman — The Children of the Promise Throughout our studies, we have followed the unfolding work of restoration, beginning with the image of God, the fall, the promised woman, and the preparation of Christ's spiritual body. We have examined the Bridegroom and Bride, those who follow, and the greater multitude receiving life and guidance. But Scripture repeatedly returns to another image: a woman who has no children, who appears forsaken, and who is later told to rejoice. Her barrenness does not bring the promise to an end. Instead, the promise reveals that what appears impossible to mankind remains possible with YHWH (יהוה). This brings us to Isaiah, Galatians, and the children who are gathered through the fulfillment of God's Word. Sing, O Barren — Isaiah 54 Isaiah 54 begins with an unexpected invitation. The barren woman, who has not given birth, is commanded to sin...

From Deception to Life — The Multitude That Follows

Image
Post Twenty-Three: From the First to the Last — The Fall of Deception and the Revealing of Truth From Deception to Life — The Multitude That Follows Throughout our studies, we have examined the preparation of Christ's spiritual body, the singular Bride, the gathering of the elect, and the wider restoration of mankind. In our previous post, we distinguished the two resurrections: those raised in incorruption, over whom the second death has no authority, and the rest of the dead who appear afterward before the opened books. But there is another question that must be considered. What happens to those who have lived and died under deception? Scripture describes a world under the influence of spiritual powers, minds blinded to truth, nations deceived, and people held captive by the devil's snare. Yet it also describes the revealing of what has been hidden, the destruction of evil, and the release of those held captive. This brings us to the judgment of the deceiver and the restorati...

Two Resurrections — Different Glory, One Shepherd

Image
Post Twenty-Two: From the First to the Last — The Spiritual Body, the Earthly Family, and the Gift of Life Two Resurrections — Different Glory, One Shepherd In our previous study, we examined the great crowd coming out of tribulation. Their robes had been washed, they received shelter, and the Lamb continued shepherding them toward fountains of living waters. Their story did not end with their emergence. Now we turn to the nature of resurrection itself. Scripture describes those who participate in the First Resurrection, over whom the second death has no authority. It also describes the rest of the dead, who appear later before the throne when the books are opened. These are not descriptions we should merge simply because both involve receiving life. And we should not create additional resurrections every time Scripture describes another group, appointment, or experience. The distinction before us is between the incorruptible spiritual body and the wider restoration of mankind to earth...

The Great Crowd — Coming Out of Great Tribulation

Image
Post Twenty-One: From the First to the Last — The Multitude, the Shepherd, and the Living Waters The Great Crowd — A Multitude No One Can Number Throughout our studies, we have followed the unfolding work of restoration, beginning with Christ, the preparation of his spiritual body, the Bridegroom and Bride, and the gathering of the elect. But Scripture does not end with those prepared first. In Revelation 7, John sees a great multitude that no one can number, from every nation, tribe, people, and tongue. They stand before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes and holding palm branches in their hands. Their proclamation attributes salvation to God and to the Lamb. Read Revelation 7:9–12. Earlier in the chapter, John describes 144,000 servants sealed upon their foreheads. The number is given, and their sealing precedes the description of the great multitude. Read Revelation 7:1–8. These descriptions deserve to be examined according to their own wording. The sealed servan...

The Dry Bones — Awakening and the Larger Restoration

Image
Post Twenty: From the First to the Last — When the Breath of Life Enters Throughout our studies, we have followed the beginning of restoration through Christ, the preparation of his spiritual body, the joining of the two, and the larger household that follows. In Post Nineteen, we examined Ezekiel's two sticks becoming one, the promise of one Shepherd, the covenant of peace, and the dwelling of YHWH (יהוה) among His people. But Ezekiel 37 begins with another vision. The prophet is brought into a valley filled with bones. They are very dry, scattered across the valley, and without life. Then YHWH (יהוה) asks Ezekiel a remarkable question. Can these bones live? The answer brings us into an examination of the Word, the Spirit, the opening of graves, and the restoration of those who have lost hope. And once again, the sequence matters. The Valley — Very Dry Bones Ezekiel 37:1–3 describes the hand of YHWH (יהוה) upon Ezekiel. The Spirit brings him into a valley filled with bones. The bo...
